SBE Experience - Jovial, energetic students
What is a school without its students pouring in the school gate?
Simple. A school break. Ha!
The SBE this time around took place at the end of the school week. As someone who received education, we all know that this is the time when there is no class, no studying, and basically just merely showing up to check the attendance before you were left to do whatever you want. Well... of course, they wouldn't let the students do anything that violates the rules. School images are important after all.
Well then! Let me introduce you to the wonderful students I've met there!
Hahaha! The golden fans from my time as this class member are still there! I remember clearly it was the boys who sprayed the fans into golden color. We also got first place in the most beautiful class consecutively. Too bad our victory only lasted for a year because we had to change to another class after becoming year 6.
So... Welcome to 5 Syafie!
Despite being among the oldest students, they're still children after all. I can't seem to get mad seeing them having fun and chatting with each other with smiles plastered on their faces. Here's a quick confession, whenever I hear the senior teacher get mad at other students, I instantly got PTSD. Perks of being the product of this school I guess. Somehow pupils in this school can get so loud you can't even hear what the person next to you is saying. This remains true from the past till the present. So it is a common occurrence for teachers to silence the students. Yeah, a great place to work and has friendly teachers but hey, this PTSD won't leave me alone.😖
Also, this class is the chosen subject of my SBE-related coursework. They are required to answer the English test paper I made from scratch without any experience whatsoever. I am aware that non are willing to answer a sudden test at this end-of-the-week period so I compensate them with Chuppa-Chups lollipops. I think using a popular brand instead of no-name made-in-China lollipops is a better option to show my sincerity. I also try not to create pressure as I need them to answer regardless of right or wrong instead of expecting a good result. In the end, they all managed to finish the test and get their lollipops. Glad I did that. After SBE, one of my friends told me the students from the school she went to doesn't even willing to answer the questions! The reason? As I said, they don't want to because it's the end of the week. See? This is why we should sometimes see things from a child's perspective. I know we've been told to 'grow up' but when handling kids, we have to borrow the eyes of our inner child to understand them.
